Kisumu Day High School kicked off their Term two ball games on a high note after thrashing Xaverian 6-0 in the Kisumu Central Sub County Term Two Group B football matches played at Kisumu Day grounds on Thursday.

Kisumu Day who are the Kisumu County champions top the pool with four points after being held to a barren draw by Magadi School.

However, it was against Xaverian that the football giants showed their goal scoring prowess.

Brian Odiwuor scored a hat trick to lead ‘Yudhee’ to victory as Braidone Simidi, Benard Ouma and Bavon Omondi joined in on the scoresheet.

Kisumu Day multidisciplinary coach Booker Odhiambo told the Standard Sports their goal is to better last year’s results when they finished runners up at the Nyanza Region finals when they lost to Homa Bay giants Agoro Sare at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University in Bondo, Siaya.

Odhiambo who is a passionate sports coach said they are however taking it a game at a time, playing with no pressure.

“We wasted a lot of chances in the draw against Magadi but I am glad the boys played very well against Xaverian.

“It is still very early and no need for pressure. The team is coming up well and I trust they will get far this year,” said Odhiambo who is also Kisumu Day hockey coach.

Elsewhere, Kisumu Boys High School dominated Group A proceeding after seeing off Kudho and Shauri Moyo.

Kisumu Boys hammered Shauri Moyo 4-0 before seeing off Kudho 2-0.

Action continues on Friday for the final pool matches before semis and finals on Saturday.
