Shabana continued with their battle to avoid being relegated to the National Super League after narrowly edging out fellow strugglers Sofapaka 1-0 in a FKF Premier League match staged at Machakos Stadium to move out of the relegation zone.

Brian Michira scored the lone goal in the 55th minute, a strike that sealed maximum points for the Gusii based club.

Victory lifted Shabana out of the bottom three and into position 15th with 28 points with six games left until the end of the 2023-2024 regular season.

Sofapaka on the other hand dropped into the promotion and relegation playoff spot despite also having 28 points. The 2009 champions however have an inferior goal difference of -13 goals compared to Shabana’s 10 goals conceded.

In Kisumu, Emmanuel Mogaka scored a brace as Bidco United fried Muhoroni Youth 3-1 at Muhoroni Stadium.

Samuel Ndugu added a goal as Bidco moved to seventh with 40 points.

Muhoroni Youth remained in the bottom two with 26 points, two points off Sofapaka in the playoff spot.

At Police Sacco Stadium, Kariobangi Sharks thrashed KCB 3-0 to move to 10th.
