KCB FC will be eyeing a semi-final slot in the FKF Cup competition as they take on Kakamega Homeboyz in the cup quarters at the Dandora Stadium this Saturday.

On their way to the quarters, KCB trounced MOFA with a slim 1-0 in the round of 32 before hammering Bidco United 3-1 in the round of 16.

The bankers, who hold the second runners-up position as their highest-ranking place in the competition, will be aiming to advance further in the competition, especially after being edged out in the quarters by Tusker United in 2022/23.

Speaking during their final training session, KCB Head Coach Bernard Mwalala said, “We are prepared for the clash ahead of us. I know that Kakamega Homeboyz is an organised side, and it is not going to be an easy game. But as usual, we take a game at a time, try to keep them away from our goal while capitalising on each and every chance we get to score goals.”

Goal Keeper Farouk Shikhalo, who has featured in all the matches since he was signed in the January window, is also expected to feature in the clash.

“This season has not been good for us so far, but we are hoping to capitalise on this competition to boost our morale and courage. I believe it is a matter of everyone showing up, working hard, and ensuring we sweat all on the pitch to give our team the status it deserves. like any other game, we have to fight for the cup.” KCB FC Captain Brian Ochieng noted.
