Water, Irrigation, and Sanitation Cabinet Secretary nominee Eric Muuga has disclosed his net worth is Sh31 million.
Appearing before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments on Tuesday, August 2, the youngest CS nominee left the House members in awe after revealing the amount of wealth he acquired at 31.
“My net worth is Sh31 million. I come from a region that is engaged in farming and invested in lands owned and planted crops like tea, coffee, bananas, and others,” Muuga told the committee.
To the surprise of the committee, he said that he doesn't own a car but has instead chosen to focus on investments.
The nominee said he would remain true to the extent that if offered a car by a water contractor for favours, he would not have it.
He promised to ensure that all citizens get access to water if approved.
Muuga is specialised in water resources engineering and has worked at a consulting firm where his job is related to the Ministry of Water.
"In the process of carrying out my daily activities, I have worked at all levels, mostly in the private sector. I've worked and engaged with stakeholders in water development works as a consultative," he told the committee.
Muuga said he is duly registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya as a professional engineer and with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya as a corporate member.
