National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has convened a Special sitting on Monday at 2 pm.
The sitting is to consider a report by a select committee on the impeachment of Agriculture CS Muthika Linturi.
"I have appointed Monday, 13th May 2024 at 2.30 p.m. as the day and time for a Special Sitting of the House to receive the report of the said Select Committee;" Wetangula said.
This comes days after MPs unanimously voted for a committee to investigate allegations tabled against CS Linturi and report back the findings to the House.
An 11-member committee was then formed to investigate the proposed impeachment motion against the Cabinet Secretary.
The 11 include Tharaka Nithi Member of Parliament George Murungara, Kirinyaga Women Representative Njeri Maina, and Nairobi County MP T.J Kajwang.
Other MPs include Naomi Jilo, Robert Mbui, Rachael Nyamai, Samuel Kiprono, Moses Malulu, Kassim Sawa, Catherine Omanyo, and Yussuf Farah.
The special sitting will also look into: Senate amendments to the Division of Revenue Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 14 of 2024), Report of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning on the Ratification of the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting, committee of the Whole House on the Senate amendments to the Division of Revenue Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 14 of 2024); and Committee of the Whole House and Third Reading of the National Disaster Risk Management Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 24 of 2023).
