President Ruto mourns with Beatrice Elachi after son's death

President William Ruto has sent his condolences to Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi following the death of her son, Elvis Murakana Namenya.

 In a statement on X on Tuesday, March 25, Ruto described the loss as heartbreaking and prayed for strength for the family.

 "May God grant Mheshimiwa Beatrice Elachi and the family strength to bear with the loss of their dear son, Elvis Murakana," said Ruto.

The family has not disclosed the cause of Namenya’s death.

Elachi’s party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), also expressed sympathy, saying it stood with her during this time of mourning.

Kileleshwa Ward MCA Robert Alai described the loss as devastating. "Losing a child is an unimaginable pain. My thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time," said Alai.

 He added that the Kileleshwa community was offering prayers and support to Elachi’s family.

Veteran broadcaster Fred Obachi Machokaa reflected on the sorrow of losing a child.

"Parents prefer being buried by their children, but God's plans do not necessarily align with ours. Poleni sana the Elachis, may the Almighty God comfort you."

Shinyalu MP Fredrick Lusuli shared in Elachi’s grief, saying,  "On behalf of my family and the people of Shinyalu, I send my sincere condolences to my big sister and colleague. May God give you strength to endure," said Lusuli.
