Busia governor shuffles county ministers, chief officers

Busia Governor Paul Otuoma has moved five CECs even as he created a new docket, the ICT, Sustainable Development Goals Mainstreaming and Economic Revitalisation.

Deputy Governor Arthur Odera, who doubled as Water and Irrigation executive, will now head the Department of Health Services and Sanitation, taking over from Beatrice Nakholi, who moves to the Department of Education and Vocational Training.

Topister Wanyama has retained her Finance docket and will also serve, in acting, as ICT boss. Pamela Awori has replaced Andrew Nakitari at the Public Service docket.

Nakitari was moved to the Transport, Roads and Public Works docket. The changes also saw Andrew Meso move to the Department of Water, Irrigation and Climate Change.

Omuse Olakachuna and Dr George Muko retained their Trade and Investment, and Agriculture and Livestock dockets respectively. Others who kept their dockets are Peter Odima (Lands) and Paul Olunga (Sports).

Dr Otuoma also shuffled his chief officers, moving governorship Chief Officer Elijah Mwaro to Trade. Others are Isabela Odoyo, who has been moved to Economic Planning and Budgeting, and Mercy Imo, who takes over at Lands.

John Muroki was moved to Water and Irrigation and is the Acting County Secretary, with Timothy Odende, the Agriculture chief officer, as his deputy.

Kennedy Mbaja moves to Public Service, while Faustin Ochunga Solomon Abwaku takes over Education and Governorship offices.

Otuoma also appointed Vincent Mutanda as Chief of Staff, journalist Emmanuel Juma as Director, Governor's Press Unit, and Peter Bwire as a special aide to the governor.
