A family of four has today been killed in an accident along the Eldoret-Malaba highway at Manyanja junction.

Witnesses say the four were traveling back to their home in Malava after the burial of a relative in Bungoma County.

At around Bumula, a speeding trailer veered off of the road and hit the four who were traveling on a motor bike.

"We have experienced a very bad accident here, it is our appeal to the KeNHA to erect bumps on the road to curb frequent accidents," Patrick Masika one of the witnesses said.

Masika said many people have lost lives along the same road but the relevant authorities haven't taken an initiative of erecting bumps on the busy road.

Kakamega governor Fernandez Barasa in a condolence message to the family said it is unfortunate for one family to lose four members.

"I have learnt with great sadness, the tragic death of four residents of Kakamega County who perished in a road accident at Mayanja shopping centre along Malaba- Eldoret road while on their way back home after buying their loved one in Bungoma County," governor Barasa stated.
