Thika town MP Alice Ng'ang'a has called for a review of the NG-CDF allocation formula saying the current one is discriminatory.
In what has reawakened the aspirations of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which sought to end the conflict over national resource distribution by treating all Kenyans equally, the lawmaker regretted that her constituents have been getting a raw deal as compared to Kenyans in densely populated constituencies.
The legislator insisted that the current government must rise to the occasion and bring to an end, the unequal distribution of resources saying all Kenyans have equal rights.
Wangui said that the distribution formula should be reviewed to have constituencies get resources according to the number of people who reside there.
She said that her constituents are many compared to other constituencies and yet the allocation to some constituencies was higher compared to that of Thika town.
The UDA MP was speaking at a public participation forum organized to collect views from Thika residents on the utilization of the fund.
Her views come as the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission plans to embark on a review of borders within the country.
