It was initially claimed farmhand was sent by Chania to deposit some money at a nearby mobile money shop.

Police argued that it was the last time the suspect was seen as he used the main road to a nearby shop to vanish.

His close friends revealed that he was close to the businessman as he always attended to his personal errands.

"The last time that I saw him was when he was assigned an errand by Chania to deposit money at a mobile money shop. He went to the shop and never came back," said one of Mukiria's friends.

The farmhand had worked for Mwangi for many years and the same night, he disappeared, he was supposed to hand over to a new farmhand who had been sourced by Chania.

Police have since charged Mbugua with murder alongside Chania. The two have denied the charges.

Chania and Mbugua are in custody until their bail request case is mentioned on November 29.

Yesterday, a detective privy to the investigations intimated to The Standard that they will be seeking more days to hold Mukiria for them to complete investigations.
