"The Board is keen on collaborating with like-minded public and private sector institutions on initiatives geared towards empowering local creatives as well as creating facilitative environment for them to operate," KFCB said.

The meeting was part of a stakeholders and partners' build-up meet-up ahead of a major PMVA 2022 launch slated for next month.

This year, PMVA will be bigger and better, having taken a wider scope where the Standard Group Plc will conduct artistes' mentorship workshops, partners' engagement discussion forums, club activations and social media events as part of the PMVA Road to the Gala Night journey.

Now in its eighth edition, PMVA is the biggest annual music video awards in the region, an initiative that celebrates local creatives in music.

This year's edition will see the creation of new categories.

Winners should also anticipate more prizes during the gala night.

The awards are an offshoot of Pulse, Kenya's pioneer weekly showbiz magazine that has been in the market for more than 15 years.

Pulse is now one of the leading entertainment products managed under the Standard Group's Entertainment and Lifestyle Desk. Others include Eve Woman, Sunday Magazine and Generation Next.

KFCB is mandated to regulate the creation, broadcasting, possession, distribution and exhibition of film content.
