Mildred Odira, the woman who was reported to have been missing from January 29 while being taken to hospital by a taxi driver has now been found dead at the City Mortuary.
Speaking to the media this morning, Maureen Anyango who is Mildred Odira Sister said that they found the body at the City Mortuary this morning (Monday) in a dilapidated condition.
“Millie is no more, we have found her at the City Mortuary,” she said.
Describing the condition of her body, Anyango said that “Millie’s body had deep cuts on the navel, forehead, and neck. Her legs were also crushed suggesting that she was run over by a moving vehicle.”
According to the sister, Millie had been ailing from ulcers and blood pressure which had raised concern for her health. The mother of one had been missing since Tuesday when she was going for treatment at Nehema Uhai Hospital in Kasarani, Nairobi.
However, her family became concerned when her 9-year old son failed to attend school on that day.
Following the development, the families have become much concerned about the potential reason for Millie’s murder.
“We are asking ourselves, what Millie did to deserve this… What debt did she have that the family could not have paid to necessitate such an inhumane, brutal act,” wondered her brother.
The taxi driver who allegedly took Mildred Odira to the said hospital, is currently under police custody to aid investigation
Repeated attempts by her sister to trace her whereabouts bared no fruits as her phone was off.
The family had visited The Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital on Wednesday but was told no patient with that name had reported there.
The Kasarani Police officers investigated the hospital’s CCTV footage which indicated that the taxi driver had reached the hospital, stayed for a few minutes and went out without dropping anyone.
Mildred was a mother to a 9-year-old boy and an employee of Foresight Company.
