Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has said he will be an active participant in the proceeds of the petition filed by NASA at the Supreme Court challenging the declaration of Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the August 8 general election.
Wetangula, who is a NASA coalition principal who spoke during a church service on Sunday said it is clear Jubille had lost in the elections and only rigged to have Uhuru Kenyatta declared president elect by the electoral body.
He has offered himself to be among those who will be giving aid to the team of lawyers handling the case that is seeking to annul the presidential election results announced a week ago.
The Bungoma Senator elect has made remarks that are likely to cause undesired heat in the united front that came together to ensure they captures presidency from the ruling party.
NASA principals Moses Wetangula, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi abandoned their ambition of leading the country and picked on ODM party’s Raila Odinga as the appropriate candidate to face Jubilee’s Uhuru Kenyatta in the presidential race.
The leaders made a unanimous decision of supporting Mr Odinga’s bid and they agreed he would be a one term president with Kalonzo Musyoka as his deputy.
During the coalition’s campaigns, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka appeared determined and focused on being the best bet to trust the presidential race with in 2022.
Kalonzo made numerous appeals to his supports to massively vote for Mr Odinga saying they had agreed he would leave the top seat for him come 2022.
Mr Odinga, despite having rejecting the August 8 elections outcome that showed he lost to Uhuru on a wide margin, has already made it clear that he will not run for presidency again.
The Ford Kenya party leader during the church service announced that he has plans to succeed Mr Odinga.
"I dropped my ambition for presidency in order to support Raila in this elections and now that he will not be vying for the top seat I will go for it in 2022," said Wetangula.
The remarks by Wetangula have come on a day ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi expected to be meeting leaders elected on the party.
ANC managed 11 parliamentary seats in Western Kenya’s four counties while Ford Kenya managed sending 4 the national assembly.
Wetangula is the only NASA principal that will have elective responsibility after he secured his Bungoma senatorial seat on his Ford Kenya party ticket.
