NASA coalition’s founder and Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has for a long time camped in Nairobi being the campaigns head for Raila Odinga’s bid for presidency whose fate has now been left for the determination of the Supreme Court.
Immediately after the coalition moved to court to challenge the declaration of Uhuru Kenyatta as the president elect, the ANC party leader is headed home to meet leaders elected on ANC to both the National and County Assembly seats.
ANC proved strong as it stood strong against the Jubilee and ODM party waves bagging several MCA seats and a majority 11 of the 33 parliamentary sears in the western Kenya counties.
ODM and Jubilee managed 8 parliamentary seats each while the others went to opposition affiliated parties as Ford Kenya.
Musalia will be among prominent leaders attending the burial of the slain IEBC manager for ICT Chris Msando on Saturday after which he is scheduled to meet the ANC leaders to chat the way forward as he is tipped to be eyeing the presidency in 2022.
ANC party secretary general Godfrey Osotsi has said the party leader will be meeting the elected MCA to discuss how they shall seek to propel the party’s agenda in their legislative capacities in Bungoma, Kakamega, Vihiga and Busia Counties.
“The party leader is expected to congratulate the MCAs-elect and hold discussions on how to push the party’s legislative agenda in the four county assemblies,” said Mr Osotsi.
The race to Statehouse in 2022 is likely to take a new look and new political alignments are expected as both Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga will be onlookers as possibly Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and William Ruto get into a show of might.
