The vote of no confidence motion on South African president Jacob Zuma gained momentum by 51 more votes when he survived a sixth one with a narrow win of just 198 votes in his favor versus 177 seeking his ouster.
The previous motion was in November but the recent one had 51 more legislators adding to the no-confidence basket with nine choosing not to vote during the motion even though only one abstained in November.
Zuma has been embattled over the deteriorating faith in his mandate but has a funny way of showing his real side at a time when he narrowly escapes impeachment.
The ANC party leader remains in power until December when his tenure ends and it is still unclear whether he will step down after relinquishing himself from the party leadership.
