A 95-year-old man has shocked the residents of Gathura village after he was found staying in a cave.He had cited the big cave in a tree and made it his home after his sons turned against him.

Speaking to journalist on Wednesday Njuguna Nganga said that he has been living in the cave for four years now.

He also said that his sons where always mistreating him forcing him to run away from home to that solitude place where he could find peace.

According to him, his trouble began when his wife died four years ago.He further said that he has lost hopes in life and he is only waiting eagerly for his death.

“ I no longer see the need of living, I have no hopes to live a better life, I know I am advanced in age and the only thing that is remaining is to die and join the ancestors,” said Njuguna.

He further revealed that he survives by begging and eating food from dumpsites yet he has children who can just take care of him.Njuguna said that his four sons seem not bothered by his where about.

Additionally, he said he has to endure the long night cold and hunger pangs.He claimed that he is healthy yet from the look at his body he was so emaciated.

It was a small boy who had gone to the forest who stumbled on him.The young boy brought him food and notified the residents.

The resident came and witnessed saying that they were not aware the old man was living in that cave yet they used the road near that cave frequently.

When he was asked if he wants to be taken home he refused saying that if they want to assist him they should take him somewhere else and not to his home because feared that his sons will mistreat him.
