The people of Nyeri county showed an exceptional behavior and a high level of maturity during the burial of their Governor Nderitu Gachagua who was laid to rest on Monday in his rural home Hinga, Mathira constituency.

The resident by so doing they gave their first Governor a befitting burial. Many people expected that they are going to heckle at the opposition leaders simply because they were in President Uhuru’s stronghold.

They warmly welcomed leaders from across the political divides. They showed that they are above tribal politics by letting opposition leaders pay their tribute to their colleague.

Their act of not booing, heckling or showing disrespect to those politicians was laudable and it needs to be emulated by other Kenyans across the country.

Most Kenyans are known for one thing when they feel they aren’t in agreement with something or someone, heckling.This is mostly done during political rallies, conferences, funerals and so on.

A good number of politicians have been recipients of political disquiet in areas perceived to be the strongholds of certain politicians. Those who do this believe that heckling and booing is the only way to drive politicians away.
