As Kenya struggles to come to terms with the tragic Naivasha accident, various parts of the world are also facing the same predicament following tragedies that claimed many lives. In what can be termed as a black Sunday, lives were lost in Nigeria, Somalia, Mogadishu, Egypt and Turkey. The last four were terror related.

In Nigeria a church collapsed killing at least 160 congregants. Christian faithfuls had gathered to worship in Uyo town, Akwa Ibom state, when the roof caved in on them.

In Egypt, a car bomb exploded, ripping through a catholic church, Coptic Cathedral in Cairo, killing at least 25 people and wounding 49. The casualties were mostly women as the bomb struck a section occupied by mostly women.

In Turkey, twin bomb attacks on police claimed 38 lives and many more were injured in Instanbul. The attack occurred near the football stadium of Turkish giants Besiktas. Majority of the casualties were police officers.

In Mogadishu, Somalia, a suicide truck bombing outside a busy sea port claimed 16 lives.
