Finally, AFC Leopards has a legally elected office. This is a new dawn to the 12-time Kenya Premier League champions; a club that has suffered immensely due to poor leadership and wrangles in the club. The new office brings with it peace and stability to the club, with all the energy focused on making the team successful again.

The poor club leadership, since former chair Alex Ole Magelo left office, has had gigantic effects on the club. Sponsors are leaving, losing key players to rival clubs and fans shunning away from attending games, just but to name a few. The mismanagement of funds had seen the club plunge into bankruptcy, with players going for months without salaries and others playing with an empty stomach. Good coaches have since left the club due to the poor leadership and it all affected the clubs performances. For the past three years without silverware, the club is no longer the football giant in the region, and the much-hyped Mashemeji derby is no longer what it used to be because of the poor quality of Ingwe.

The election of Daniel mule, however, represents a new day, a new beginning in the club. The battle has just begun, as Mule carries the hopes and expectations of millions of AFC Leopards fans around the country. An 18-year trophy drought is the first thing fans will want to see coming to an end. With a sponsor in place, fans will be expecting better performances from the team.

AFC Leopards ought to take its rightful position in the SportPesa Premier league as well as around the region. It should be among the clubs producing players for the national team. With a good leadership, the club should regain its reputation, and should see fans returning to the stadiums. This will also attract sponsors who will ensure the financial foes at the club ends. Mule’s first assignment will be to achieve the desired financial stability for the club. There should not be any mismanagement of funds again, as this will result to players’ sabotage and sponsors throwing in the towel. The club should be able to attract quality players again that will bring success to the club.

The fans have given Mule the first 100 days to see a positive change. They have faith in him that is why they overwhelmingly voted for him, and will be glad if they are rewarded with silverware within his reign at the club.
