President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged leaders to desist from engaging in politics of division and hatred but instead focus on issues that can spur development in the country.
President Kenyatta who was addressing residents of Nakuru and Baringo Counties said that Kenya is a democratic country but cautioned that political leaders should not compete at the expense of peace and development.
Indeed, peace is at the heart of development. Peace is the solid rock where development rests.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s message of peace and harmony should be the yardstick that Kenyans ought to measure development.
We should indeed shun noises that emanate from pessimistic critics and haters of development. Kenya is a cosmopolitan country and the citizens should embrace harmony to set a good example for the rest of Africa and the world.
Peace loving Kenyans should be wary of politicians who thrive on chaos and are busy scheming how to cause disunity in the nation.
Such caliber of leaders should be rejected. His message was very clear: “Let us speak in one language. We are serving one people with one purpose and we should speak with one voice,” said the President.
Indeed, Kenyans should shun evils that breed ethnic hatred. Enemies of peace agreements that never again will the blood of innocent Kenyans be shed because of poor politics should be shunned.
The role of the government is to show that it is committed to ensuring peace prevails and in all parts of the country and that Kenyans are getting their right share of development.
Uhuru’s sole agenda ought to be that of uniting Kenyan people across the divide so that development can be realized.
“I am happy because the government remains united despite their efforts to bring divisions…our intention was not to only have the government but also to promote peace and unity of the country” said the President!
