President's second term re-election in jeopardy

President Uhuru Kenyatta might be losing his base support backing of the Mount Kenya region and Rift valley which voted wholly for the duo of the Jubilee Alliance. Their re-election come 2017 is in jeopardy due to what some quarters of their supporters are referring to as ‘favourism’ towards CS Ann Waiguru. Their arguments are based on the action of the President to force individuals like Hon. Charity Ngilu, Hon. Kamau, Hon. Chirchir and Hon. Kazungu to forcefully step aside due to mere accusations, propaganda and witch hunt. Up to date, no individual among those who were forcefully told to step aside by State House has been jailed meaning that the evidence that was used to forcefully make them step aside was insufficient to actually maintain a court case for six months and counting, with no conviction.

What changed on the stepping aside call from State House?

The President early this year called on government individuals who are or thought to have been or traded or enabled a corrupt deal to immediately step aside. He went on by tabling names of individuals that were under investigation and forcefully made them resign. It seems all has changed. If now one CS who has even actually admitted the loss of money under her watch is being defended by State House, operatives in disguise of the constitution say that the CS is not the accounting officer of a Ministry. State House has remained even after the public outcry of rampant corruption in Government. The war against corruption will make or break Uhuru’s 2017 re-election.

Not my responsibility?

The CS Ann Waiguru has quoted specific constitution articles and the Public Financial Management Act, which exonerates her from any procurement and contracts negotiations. In an organization and a business, there is always a hierarchy. A  CEO or MD is the head of the organisation and he/she must acquit himself/herself on the operations of the organization. Therefore, the claim by CS Ann Waiguru that she doesn’t know what has been procured and at what price leaves us to think that she is not qualified for that post.
