Njoro: Business was disrupted for hours at Nesuit trading centre in Njoro after residents held demonstrations accusing the county government of neglecting them.
The over 200 residents paralysed operations at the Nesiut Health Centre demanding that the dispensary be provided with medical equipment.
The protesters, carrying anti Governor Kinuthia Mbugua placards and twigs moved around the facility chanting
Led by Philip Sang, they accused the government for failing to avail medicine to the facility.
"We are forced to walk all the way to Njoro Hospital where we can be treated, which is over 10kms away. We want the governor to be aware that we need the services," he said.
Mr Sang claimed that over Sh8 million was allocated for the dispensary yet there were no services.
Another resident, Joseph Lelei, said the county had failed in its mandate to provide health services as required.
Contacted, Health Executive Mungai Kabii promised to call back, but his phone later went unanswered.
