The rejection of the bill seeking to disband Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission by President Uhuru Kenyatta is a step in the right direction, but is not suffice.

The President should go a step further and order the immediate arrest and prosecution of land grabbers and looters of public funds, irrespective of their positions.

This will send a clear message to that the days when influence peddlers would benefit from public largesse through political collusion at the expense of the Kenyan taxpayer are gone.
