Teso, Kenya; Teso North MP Arthur Odera on Saturday declared he has buried the hatchet and will now work with Governor Sospeter Ojaamong.
The two politicians have not been seeing eye-to-eye as the rift between them has deepened recently.
Speaking in his constituency during the burial of his step mother Lydia Odera, 101, and Debora Amai, 91, the mother to Kenya National Union of Teachers Senior Accountant for Teso Gerald Ekisa, Mr Odera told the governor they are brothers.
Speculation
The MP said he has no ambitions to vie for governor or deputy governor as per speculation. "I will seek another term as MP and later step aside once I have completed my agenda for the constituents. I don't want to be in politics for so long," he said.
Mr Odera later shook hands with the governor.
"Our friendship dates back to several years when the late Amai prepared for us ugali and matumbo," Mr Ojaamong said at Kolait village.
The area MCA Maurice Chetambe said the county had opened the Kakeriaut-Angurai District Officer's road.
