Certified Public Accountants of Kenya to carry out survey on resources lost through graft

Kenya: The amount of land and other resources corruptly lost by county and national governments through devolution will be determined once the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) carries out a survey.

The survey is expected to uncover how public resources got lost through dubious means.

"The national and county governments do not even know the location of some of their assets as there are no supporting records," said Benson Okundi, chairman of ICPAK.

"This has created a leeway for land grabbers and other unscrupulous dealers to take advantage of the unidentified resources."
