Teso, Kenya: A village elder was murdered and his eyes gouged out in a village in Okimaru, Teso North constituency.
The body of Jonathan Okimaru, 56, was dumped 200m from Busia Deputy Speaker Moses Ote's home. Mr Ote, who was the first county official to visit the scene, said the man may have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped near his home.
The deputy Speaker said the man's phone, half a glass of chang'aa and his grandmother's identity card were found near the body. Malaba police led by Deputy OCS Moses Kameli visited the scene and moved the body to Frapa Funeral Home in Kocholia.
