KCB maintained their perfect start to the 2024-2025 Kenya Cup season after seeing off Strathmore University Leos 43-8 at the KCB Sports Club on Saturday.

The match dubbed the Jerry Olola Cup was played in memory of Olola who featured for both KCB and Leos before his passing last year.

The Oliver Mang’eni coached outfit has been in stellar form since the beginning of the campaign, scoring 213 points over three matches.

The bankers thrashed South Coast Pirates 88-5 in the season opener before adding another 80-3 win over Kisumu.

On Saturday, the bankers picked their third straight win but it was the first time this season they scored below 80 in a match.

Led by Kenya U20 captain Andy Cole Omolo, the bankers took the lead through the young promoted skipper, a try that Lionel Ajeliti converted for a 7-0 lead.

Omolo retuned to haunt the university students again, bagging his brace with an unconverted try for a 12-0 lead.

Leos replied with a penalty to cut the gap to 12-3 but Wilhite Mususi put the bankers on 19-3 lead again after his try was converted by Ajeliti.

Austin Sikutwa bagged the bonus point try for the bankers with an unconverted try for 24-3 heading into the break.

In the final half, Winfred Waswa touched down, with Isaac Njoroge adding the conversion for a 31-3 lead. Strathmore managed an unconverted try to narrow the gap to 31-8.

Sikutwa bagged his brace before Manaseh Oduor sealed the win for KCB.

Elsewhere, Nondescripts also continued their good run with a 24-8 victory over Nakuru.
