As MPs prepare to vote on the Finance Bill of 2024, Azimio Senators have threatened to recall any coalition members who support the Bill.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, speaking on Thursday, June 20, said that MPs cannot ignore their constituents and political parties.

"I want to assure you that after this vote, we are going to test the new provision of the law on recalling MPs who are not following the will of the people and their political parties," said Sifuna.

Sifuna is also the ODM Party Secretary-General.

"These individuals think they are very clever by running to court and obtaining court orders every time political parties initiate legal proceedings,” he added.

"I am telling you now, after the High Court's decision, we will select two MPs to demonstrate that they are not the bosses of the people; rather, the people are their bosses."

Sifuna's comments come amid ongoing parliamentary debate on whether to approve or reject the bill.

Azimio, as a coalition, has cautioned its members against supporting the bill, arguing that it increases taxes on Kenyans already burdened by current tax levels.
