Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party will field candidates for key positions in the 2027 General Election including the presidency, National Chairperson Gladys Wanga has said.
This comes as the party intensifies efforts to consolidate support at the grassroots.
Wanga insisted that the Orange party is not in government.
Speaking at the Kisumu International Airport, the Homa Bay Governor said they are keen to build and strengthen the party.
"We hope that our party will field seats starting from MCAs, MPs, Governors, and senators and we will not leave any seat including presidency of this country. The ODM party is moving forward," she said.
Wanga expressed optimism that new acting ODM leader Anyang' Nyong'o will steer the party to greater heights.
Prof Nyong'o exuded confidence that the party is destined to rule Kenya saying that together with other leaders they will work to make ODM leader Raila Odinga proud.
"I am confident we will work together not to disappoint Raila. ODM leaders have always given their dedication and commitment to serving Kenyans, we must continue to do so. The end of second liberation is yet to be seen," he said.
The Kisumu Governor said although he is leading the party in an acting capacity, he will try and fit in Raila’s shoes.
"We will not deviate if we stand together," he said.
Governor Nyong'o said the party will sacrifice to ensure Kenyans get what they deserve because their leaders are true to the course.
"I am asking ODM leaders who have always been an example of dedication and commitment that they continue to do so. The party has no space or room for selfishness, we are all comrades and equal as those serving the people while God has given us time to do so. Do not be afraid let us work together for this party which is destined to rule this country," he said.
