Gor Mahia will inch closer to a record extending 21st Premier League title on Thursday at SportPesa Arena in Murang’a if they defeat KCB in a midweek FKF Premier League match set to kick off at 3pm.

K’Ogalo’s title charge was interestingly boosted by their archrivals AFC Leopards after Ingwe ended Kenya Police’s title ambitions by beating them 1-0 at Dandora Stadium on Wednesday.

Victor Omune’s strike in the 74th minute was enough for Leopards to halt the law enforcers’ unbeaten run. This was Salim Babu’s first defeat as Police coach this year since succeeding his former boss Zdravko Logarusic last year.

The defeat left Police second on the log with 54 points, nine points behind runaway leaders Gor.

A win over the bankers will send K’Ogalo 12 points clear with four matches left.

This means Gor will be crowned champions on Sunday when they face off against relegation threatened Muhoroni Youth in Murang’a.

At Police Sacco Stadium, Tusker surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Nairobi City Stars.

Eric Kapaito and Michael Kibwage scored for the brewers with Samuel Kapen and Mohamed Bajaber neting for Simba wa Naiorbi.

The draw left Tusker third with 53 points, 10 points off leaders Gor.
