DCI officers arrest of Bomet MCA outside court

There was drama at Bomet Law Courts after Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officers arrested a Member of County Assembly as he prepared to follow proceedings of a case involving three County Executive Members.
Siongiroi Ward Rep Kibet Ngetich was nabbed by officers in plain clothes and detained at the Bomet Central DCI offices.
Police are yet to reveal why they arrested Ngetich.
Following the dramatic arrest, Bomet Speaker Cosmas Korir and a section of MCAs stormed DCI offices to secure the release of the MCA but were turned away.
Addressing the Press outside DCI offices, Korir said they wanted to know the reason for Ngetich's arrest.

"We are here to know whether his arrest is related to recent motions, which he sponsored but did not get any communication from the officers here," he said.
The Speaker regretted that the officers took advantage of the MCA's appearance in court to arrest him.
Attempts to get a comment from Bomet Central Sub-County Police Commandant Musa Omari were futile as his phone went unanswered.
By the time of going to press, the MCA was still being held by police at the DCI offices.
