Education CS vows legal action on KCSE exam cheats

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has assured Kenyans that individuals involved in exam malpractices will face legal action.
Ogamba made the remarks in Kiambu County while distributing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam papers.
According to the CS, cases of exam irregularities have been reported in several counties, including Siaya and Uasin Gishu.
Those involved, primarily adults, have been arrested, with investigations underway to determine the extent of the malpractice.
"So far, several arrests have been made in Siaya and Eldoret, all involving adults. Students are not part of these syndicates," Ogamba stated.

He added, "The investigations are ongoing and will reveal the extent of the cartels involved in the malpractice. Anyone involved will face the full force of the law."
By last week, the ministry had received reports of at least 11 cases of attempted cheating across the country.
The CS’s remarks come just days before the 2024 KCSE exams conclude on Friday, November 22
