Home club’s Miqdaad Walji and Alyssa Jamal have every reason to celebrate after separately scooping double victories at the Par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club course in Mombasa, over the weekend.
Playing off handicap 9, Walji carded an eight over par 79 gross and 70 nett to emerge the best Gross and Division A winner in the July Mug tournament.
“This has been my day though I have not been winning for quite long, but it seems my golf is now improving. I'm back to my best form and ready for the forthcoming events," said Walji.
Meanwhile, lady golfer Alyssa Jamal, playing off handicap 8, brought a seven over par 78 gross and 70 nett scores to win the July Ladies Medal best Gross and Division A Nett.
“The course was playing well and my shots were landing on the greens, but I still need to practice more in preparation for next month’s Ladies Coast Open that brings together all the top lady golfers across the region," said Jamal.
