Former Education PS Karega Mutahi dies

Former Education Principal Secretary Karega Mutahi is dead.
The news of his death was announced by Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital Chairperson Olive Mugenda, who eulogised him as “a good friend and former boss.”
“He was the pragmatic PS who got the assignments right and got the work done,” said Mugenda on Sunday, October 27,
She noted that when the Kenyatta University Hospital was almost completed, Mutahi stepped up to chair the operationalization committee.
Mugenda said the resulting “Karega report” significantly contributed to the hospital's operations.

Mutahi will be remembered for supporting vice chancellors during his tenure, aiding performance and transformation at Kenyatta University.
He served as PS during the administration of the late President Mwai Kibaki and was instrumental in driving reforms in higher education.
Mutahi held a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Politics from the University of Nairobi.
