30 years after her predecessor Margaret Thatcher toured Kenya, British Prime Minister Theresa May has visited the country for a day-long visit. May, who is on a charm offensive targeting the Sub-Saharan region, for renewed partnerships in the post-Brexit period, landed in Kenya from Lagos, Nigeria on Thursday 6:30am.
She was received by top Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials including Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko. Her delegation then proceeded to State House for a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta where she was welcomed with a 19-gun salute. Two shy from the 21-gun salute accorded to Presidents. Here are some of the pictures of meeting at State House, Nairobi and eventual joint press briefing between the two nations.
