It is justice for Baby Sagini after a court in Kisii handed sentences to the three accused who were found guilty of conspiring to cause harm by gouging out the eyes of the three-year-old boy late last year.

The main offender Alex Ochoga, 27, will serve 40 years in prison for gouging out the baby’s eyes. The minor’s aunt who was the second accused; Pacifica Nyakerario, 51, and the third accused Rael Nyakerario, 80, who is a grandmother to the victim will serve 10 and five years respectively.

The three had been charged with causing grievous harm to the three-year-old Brighton Sagini, who has since the case began, been referred to in court files as Baby Sagini.
