Government sets aside Ksh.14Bn for fisheries, Aquaculture rolled out in Counties

The government has set aside at least 14 billion shillings for the support of small?scale fish producers in the counties. The joint venture between the Kenyan government and development partners is being implemented in 15 counties and it is aimed at boosting economic activities among the rural based communities. The move is aimed at using aquaculture to ease pressure on the capture fisheries that continues to express myriad of challenges, including overfishing.
