Matiang'i and Mutyambai appear before Senate, media barred from covering CS grilling

Journalists Were Kicked Out Of A Senate Committee Meeting Where Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi, Inspector General Of Police Hillary Mutyambai And Director Of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti Were Being Grilled Over The Dramatic Arrest Of Three Senators On Monday. The Chairman Of The Senate National Security Committee Yusuf Haji Said The Media Was Not Invited To Cover The Meeting.  The Media Council Of Kenya And A Section Of Senators On Their Official Tweeter Accounts Criticised The Move As Retrogressive Adding That The Public Had A Right To Know The Reasons For The Arrest On A Day The Senate Was To Vote On The Contentious Revenue Sharing Formula.
