Ghosts of Marakwet: Village elders conduct rituals to appease spirits of missing kin after landslide

Elders from Kobil village, Marakwet East constituency in Elgeyo Marakwet county conducted cultural rituals to appease the spirits of their missing kin and avert future tragedies in the region. They claim since the Marakwet east and west Pokot landslides, the ghosts of the lost kin have been visiting the flood victims at night asking them why they were abandoned. Elvis Kosgei was there and now reports of the cultural rituals meant to appease 26 people who are still missing, one and half months after a tragedy that killed 17 people and displaced 4000 others
