As the world marks International Women's Day, for a 39 year old, Rose Auma, her fresh wounds are a reminder that Kenya is far from winning the War on gender based violence.  On the night of 25th of January, her lover of 9 months descended on her with a panga, on suspicion that she had an affair with another man. This is an incident that nearly killed her as she lost her hand and sustained deep panga cuts.
