Management of KNH approves the engagement of additional private security

22nd January, 2018

The board of management of Kenyatta National Hospital has now approved the engagement of additional private security guards to man the hospital. In a statement issued today, the board said the additional guards would complement the current security officers operating at the hospital. The chairman of the board and former PS Mark Bor has further asked the national police service commission to consider expanding their coverage of the hospital. The board also explained that the reason why infants are separated from their mothers was strictly for clinical reasons and to control infection. The board also added that it was considering relocating mothers near their children to avoid movements at night. The statement comes in the wake of social media reports that new mothers have been sexually molested as they visit their children in nurseries.
