Huruma Tragedy: 12 confirmed Dead and 69 still unaccounted for and feared might be in the rubble

The death toll following the house that collapsed in Huruma estate here in Nairobi has risen to 12. 134 people have so far been rescued with 69 still missing. The head of state visited the site earlier accompanied by top government officials and was immediately briefed on the rescue progress which was hampered by heavy rains. The rescue operation is being undertaken by the military assisted by police, Kenya Red Cross volunteers as well as the national youth service. According to the Kenya Red Cross, a total of 150 households were affected. The building is about two years old.
