Kenyans still being smuggled and recruited to work under harsh conditions in United Arab Emirates

In June this year, Kenyan foreign affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed called for a complete ban on the exportation of Kenyans to work as domestic workers in the United Arab Emirates and in particular Saudi Arabia. Despite the ban, several Kenyans are still being smuggled and recruited to work under harsh conditions. The most recent case being that of a Family from Central Kenya’s Murang’a County who cannot trace their kin who worked in Saudi Arabia. Fatma Pole reports.
