At least 500 homes burnt down as hundreds of families evicted from Mau forest

Barely 48 hours after the government issued a notice for the Mau evictions at least 500 homes have been burnt down by the Kenya Forest Service rangers. Residents of Kipkeino village in a section of the Mau forest are bearing the brunt and are scared of imminent disease outbreak. Hundreds of families have been forced to sleep in the open forest after their homes went up in flames.
