After scooping 17 medals at the Deaflympic games in Sofia Bulgaria it was time for mobile telephony provider Safaricom to fulfill their promise of awarding the successful athletes. The biggest beneficiary of the promise was Simon Kibai Cherono who went home 4 million shillings richer for winning three gold medals and breaking the 10000m junior record.
