South African icon nelson Mandela is receiving kidney dialysis and is responsive. A source close to the Mandela family says Mandela is not in vegetative state and still opens his eyes. Outside the hospital gates however, most South Africans believe he is on life support, sparking the debate on whether the machines should be switched off.
