The District Commissioner of Mathira West District in Nyeri county Abdulahi Galgallo has begun closing down bars in the area as the clampdown on excessive drinking in central Kenya is stepped up. In Ngandu location alone, seven bars have been shut down in a move that has elicited mixed reactions from those who support him as well as those who oppose the action.
