A Section Of Farmers And Leaders From The North Rift Region Have Expressed Fears Of Maize Importation After A State Agency Delayed In Opening Doors For The Purchase Of Last Season's Produce. According To The Groups, The Move By National Cereals And Produce Board (NCPB) To Close Its Doors For Maize Purchases Will Create A Leeway For Unscrupulous Traders To Import The Grain And Sell It To The State At Exorbitant Prices, Hurting An Already Ailing Sector.
