Prisoners at Shimo La Tewa Maximum prison say are disturbed by the “slow” pace at which the Power of Mercy is being administered.
About 200 of the inmates have been released in five years. The prison’s population is projected above 4,000. They were speaking during petition interviews conducted by the Power of Mercy Advisory Committee. This was the third Prison the committee was visiting after Lang’ata and Kamiti.
