CS Eugene Wamalwa launches a 2.1 billion water project in Siaya

16th October, 2016

Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has launched a 2.1 billion shilling water project in Siaya funded by the African Development Bank. The Siaya and Bondo (Sibo) water project will provide portable water to 190,000 people and will ease water scarcity that has faced the county over the years. Wamalwa applauded the project saying it will provide cheap, reliable water sources to 845,000 people. It will serve major towns in Siaya, Bondo, Ugunja, and Ukwala and six constituencies- Bondo, Rarieda, Ugenya, Alego, Gem, Ukwala and 29 wards. The progress work is currently 95 percent complete and is expected to be fully operational within the next three months.
